Poor & Hungry from Ellendale "SWAMP" Delaware owned and operated by Wayne and Brenda Sennet was the 1999 champ in the pneumatic class. With a distance of over 3000 ft. The shot was fired by Brenda Sennet making her the first Woman to ever win a sanctioned pumpkin hurling event. Thanks Wayne and Brenda for making the trip.
Other Pumpkin Chunkers traveled in from the Delaware region as well. An Appearance was made by Bill "Braud Dog" Tompson and Wife Dawn Bill is one of the Founding Fathers of Pumpkin Chunking. Chuck Burton with a cannon called Young Glory manned by his two sons. Thanks Folks hope to see you in Busti this year.
The Pneumatic Pumpkin Cannons can hurl a Pumpkin up to a half a mile.

Machine the Human Power World Champ 1995 - 1999 has made the trip to
Busti for the last 2 years and also holds the Record at the Pumpkin
Hurling Festival 1286 Feet. Gene's Machine is operated by Jim Durnan.

Team Onager made its first trip to Busti for Pumpkin Hurling 99. They traveled all the way from Clayton NC.Captain of Team Onager is Bob Carbo. The Busti Fire Department would like to thank Bob for featuring Pumpkin Hurling 99 on his Web Site.
